The President of Kazakhstan Kasim Jomart Tokayev said that his country is ready to participate in the construction of the Mazari-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway. This was announced at the meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries in Cholponota.
" We can supply the materials for the railway project and provide carriages," Tokayev says.
The 600-km railway may open new marketplaces for the countries of Central Asia to the major seaports of Pakistan. The projected cost is $5 billion.
Upon completion of the $ 5 billion transregional railway, the cargo shipment from Pakistan to Uzbekistan will take between 3-5 days instead of 35, and the cost of transportation of one standard cargo container will decrease by almost three times. At the same time, the volume of cargo transportation on this route can reach 10 million tons.
