The Uzbek government has approved the law “On the introduction of "green" and "red" lanes at the stationary posts of the Road Patrol Service”, the press service of the Ministry of Justice reports.
According to the document, the movement of vehicles is recorded by photo and video recording devices and is regulated by giving signals to drivers through a light-emitting screen.
Vehicles that are not displayed on the screen or signalled to move along the "green" lane can continue movement via the "green" lane.
The documents of the traffic participants on the vehicles ordered to move on the "red" lane are checked using the electronic database. Once the identified debts are paid, they will be allowed to continue operating.
In cases of non-payment of debt, vehicles are placed in special parking lots.
Vehicles found to be in arrears are allowed to continue driving in a few cases, including when the violation underlying the arrears is brought to court or the case is pending in court.
