The UN General Assembly supported Shavkat Mirziyoyev's initiatives, the press service of the president reports.
All member states of the organization unanimously have approved the special resolution on strengthening the cooperation between Central and South Asia, developed by Uzbekistan under the co-authorship of 40 countries.
The initiative to develop the resolution and strengthen the common approaches, main principles and directions between the two regions was proposed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev in July 2021, during the conference "On Central and South Asia: regional cooperation. Threats and opportunities".
The document also positively noted the president's proposal to declare 2022 as the "Year of Strengthening cooperation" within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
