The new presidential decree "On further strengthening of public health protection in the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2022-2024" stipulates creating some medical facilities in remote areas of the republic.
Until the end of 2022:
• 34 additional neighbourhood medical centres will be established in distant locations of Karakalpakstan;
• 63 new ambulance service vehicles will be provided;
From September 1, 2022:
• 16 Family doctor centres will be opened within the central and family polyclinic branches;
• Screening programs for helminthiasis among 2-10-year-old children and anaemia among 12-15-year-old girls will be introduced for the purpose of early detection of common diseases among children.
Family doctors with at least 3 years of work experience will be retrained to work as specialists in a narrow field at the primary level. In addition, graduates of the Medical Higher Education Institution and specialists of medical institutions will undergo training courses funded by the Fund for the Development of Emergency Medical Care to work in emergency medicine and emergency care services.
In 2022-2024, at least 75 medical workers will be sent to prestigious foreign medical institutions and centres for training and internship.
