The Russian News Agency, "RIA Novosti», claims that billionaire Alisher Usmanov has taken back his application from the court for divorce from Viner-Usmonova which made the court case closed.
The businessman filed for divorce on May 4. Two weeks later, the parties met, and the couple was given time to make a final decision.
It was reported that the couple divorced through the registry office. The lawsuit was withdrawn due to the absence of any disputed circumstances.
Usmanov and Viner got married in 1992.
Usmanov was sanctioned by the United States, Great Britain and the European Union after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The businessman called the decision of these countries unfair and said that they made "false and baseless accusations" that harmed his "honour, dignity and business reputation." In May, he decided to file a complaint against the EU's sanctions list.
