Over the past two weeks, Uzbekistan has continued to break records for watermelon exports.
More than 35,000 tons of watermelons were exported during this period. This is reported by EastFruit.
According to preliminary data from the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, 63,400 tons of watermelons were exported from Uzbekistan from May 16 to June 30, 2022.
This is 3.1 times more than in the same period of 2021. In the same period of 2018-2020, the volume of Uzbekistan's watermelon export did not exceed 3 thousand tons.
The volume of exports within a month and a half since the beginning of the current season has increased at least 20 times over the indicators of 2018-2020.
As of July 1, 2022, the price of sending watermelon from the field varies between 500-1000 soums per kilogram, depending on the variety, quality and region of the country, excluding the costs of sorting and loading for transport.
