On July 4, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadir Japarov, the President's press service reports.
President Japarov fully supported the strict measures taken by the leader of Uzbekistan in order to put an end to attempts to destabilize the situation in Karakalpakstan stressing zero-tolerance toward interfering in the internal affairs of another country.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the plan for future high-level bilateral and multilateral meetings, including preparation issues for the summit of Central Asian countries to be held in Cholponota.
The parties reaffirmed their interest in accelerating the development of large infrastructural projects related to the development of regional transport corridors and energy infrastructure.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz President, the normalization and prevention of the situation in Karakalpakstan, and its further escalation was only possible due to the determined and coordinated actions of his Uzbek counterpart.
