The administration of the city of Tashkent has decided to reopen the centres of intensive medical care to people suspected of having coronavirus, as well as patients diagnosed with COVID-19 infection in all 12 districts of Tashkent. This was stated in the decision of the mayor of the capital Jahongir Ortikhojayev on June 24.
For the first time, such polyclinics were set in July 2021 and committed to providing emergency treatment around the clock. Each centre was assigned to three medical teams, consisting of two doctors and two regular health workers.
On June 23, Bahodir Yusupaliyev, head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service, said that Stealth-Omicron BA.2, the most contagious strain of the coronavirus omicron strain in Uzbekistan, had been identified.
As of June 22, the number of coronavirus infections in Uzbekistan had hit 239,895, of which 237,791 (99%) recovered and 1,637 (0.7%) died. On June 22 - 98 people, on June 19 - 93 people, on June 18 - 108 people, on June 17 - 90 people, and on June 16 - 59 people were diagnosed with the disease.
