The number of coronavirus infections in Uzbekistan has been steadily increasing over the past week. According to Bahodir Yusupaliyev, the head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service, there have been 90 cases reported on June 17, 108 on June 18, 93 on June 19, 87 on June 20, 82 on June 21, and 98 cases on 22 June.
The WHO notes that the Stealth-Omicron BA.2 variant of the omicron strain has become the dominant strain in countries around the world. This strain has also been identified in the country, and now this strain is observed in patients with coronavirus infection.
A sequential analysis of the virus genome at the Center for Advanced Technology of the Ministry of Innovative Development found a new mutation in the strain of the omicron strain, 67% omicron and 33 %, in the new mutation Stealth-Omicron BA.2.
The total number of coronavirus vaccines used in the country has exceeded 57.7 million doses. Among them: 20 million 550 thousand people vaccinated in the first stage, 16 million 856 thousand people vaccinated in the second stage, 20 million 355 thousand people vaccinated in the third stage and booster dose.
Today, the situation with coronavirus infection in our country is stable. But in the last two years, the incidence has risen in July-August. Therefore, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, it is important to accelerate the vaccination of the population against coronavirus infection and re-vaccination with a booster dose, Yusupaliyev said.
