The number of Uzbek citizens visiting the Republic of Korea grew significantly in the first half of this year, according to the National Statistics Committee.
From January to June 2025, a total of 14,842 Uzbek citizens traveled to Korea. This figure is 4,859 more than the same period last year, marking a 48.7% increase.

The purposes of citizens’ visits varied. Tourism accounted for the majority with 10,032 people. Another 3,041 citizens traveled to visit relatives, 1,557 went for study, 187 for business trips, and 25 for medical treatment.
The increase in visits reflects strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Korea. Beyond travel, economic cooperation between the two countries continues to expand.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Korea reached $837.1mn, and there are currently 671 enterprises with Korean participation operating in the country.
The growing number of travelers also comes amid expanding cooperation in education, healthcare, and labor mobility between the two nations.
