Plug Power, a global leader in hydrogen solutions, announced a major expansion of its partnership with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) with a new 2-gigawatt (GW) electrolyzer contract linked to a sustainable fuels project in Uzbekistan.
The agreement is said to be signed at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, with Plug President Sanjay Shrestha and Allied Green Managing Director Alfred Benedict attending the event.
Plug Power’s electrolyzer technology has been chosen as the core of a $5.5bn green chemical production facility in Uzbekistan. This plant will produce sustainable aviation fuel, green urea, and green diesel, supported by the government of Uzbekistan. The deal strengthens Plug’s position as a preferred electrolyzer supplier for large-scale global decarbonization projects.

Alfred Benedict of Allied Green Ammonia expressed strong confidence in Plug’s team and technology, highlighting their joint efforts to advance global decarbonization from Australia to Uzbekistan and beyond.
This Uzbekistan project builds on Allied Green’s prior commitment of 3 GW electrolyzer capacity for its green ammonia plant in Australia, which is on track for a final investment decision in late 2025.
Sanjay Shrestha, President of Plug, emphasized that their collaboration with Allied Green highlights Plug’s strength in delivering scalable electrolyzer solutions to support ambitious decarbonization efforts and accelerate the global move to low-carbon hydrogen across industries.
