London-headquartered snacking giant Pladis, the parent company behind popular brands such as McVitie’s, GODIVA, and Ülker, has officially entered the Central Asian market of Uzbekistan.

The company has launched a new commercial enterprise and distribution centre in Tashkent, marking a significant step in its strategy to expand its global footprint.
The newly established distribution hub in the Uzbek capital will enable pladis to deliver its McVitie’s and Ülker products to millions of consumers across the country. Through regional dealerships, pladis plans to reach over 30,000 sales points spanning 12 cities throughout Uzbekistan.
This move builds on pladis’ already strong presence in Central Asia, where it has more than 25 years of experience in chocolate and biscuit production, particularly in Kazakhstan.
“As one of Central Asia’s most dynamic and fastest-growing markets, with a population nearing 38mn, Uzbekistan presents a significant opportunity to strengthen our presence in the region and expand and grow our brands. Our market entry in Uzbekistan allows us to bring our products to millions of consumers, while deepening our long-term commitment to the region through strong local partnerships and meaningful economic contribution,” Özgür Kölükfakı, Managing Director of pladis Türkiye and Central Asia, said.
Since its founding in 2016, pladis has grown to operate 27 bakeries and factories across 11 countries, employing 16,000 people. Its brands are currently sold in over 110 countries worldwide, and the company’s entry into Uzbekistan marks the next chapter in its global growth journey.
