Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on June 8–10 at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to the presidential press service.

During the visit, high-level negotiations are scheduled in Tashkent, where the two sides will discuss deepening comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia.
Talks are said to focus on strengthening partnerships in key sectors including trade, investment, innovation, agriculture, industry, energy, and tourism. Cooperation in organized labor migration, as well as cultural, humanitarian, and educational initiatives, will also be addressed.
The leaders are expected to exchange views on pressing international issues and explore opportunities for mutual support in multilateral platforms.
Following the talks, both countries plan to sign a series of documents aimed at boosting mutually beneficial cooperation.
Prime Minister Fico will also attend the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum, where business and investment opportunities in Uzbekistan will be showcased to global partners.
In 2024, trade between the two countries grew by 30%, with key goods including textiles, food products and services, rubber items, vehicles and parts, machinery, electrical equipment, and optical instruments.
Investment ties have also strengthened, with 19 Slovak-invested companies active in Uzbekistan, mainly in IT, education, construction, logistics, metallurgy, and medical equipment manufacturing.
