Uzbekistan will set up new road infrastructure development funds under district and city khokimiyats (city administration), according to a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers on measures to create additional conveniences for the population when using vehicles.

These funds will be used exclusively for the development of road infrastructure, aiming to improve transportation access and safety at the regional level.
This move complements the existing national Road Development Fund, which was established in 2020 by presidential decree.
The national fund focuses on repairing, reconstructing, and constructing new public roads across the country.
The Road Development Fund is financed through allocations from the state budget, a portion of tax and customs revenues, as well as funding from international financial institutions, including loans and grants.
The creation of localized funds is expected to accelerate infrastructure improvements tailored to specific community needs.
