President Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech during the launch of new facilities and projects in Uzbekistan's energy sector, on December 13.
The president noted that green energy is becoming a driving force for the development of other sectors and industries, improving living standards and attracting interest from local entrepreneurs and the wider population. To further support this, the share of green projects in regional development programs will increase fivefold over the next five years.
In his speech, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of education and collaboration in achieving these goals. A dual education system will be introduced in technical schools in partnership with industrial enterprises, while advanced engineering schools will be established at five universities.
“I want to assure you all: New Uzbekistan is a country open to the world, which comprehensively guarantees investments, fully supports all your projects and initiatives, and protects the interests of our foreign partners,” said President Mirziyoyev.
Following his speech, the president pressed a symbolic button to officially commission completed facilities and launch the construction of new projects in the energy sector.
Earlier Daryo reported that President Mirziyoyev outlined bold goals for Uzbekistan's economic and energy development, as well. He highlighted the nation's trajectory toward a $200bn economy by 2030, doubling its GDP from the $100bn milestone reached in 2023.
