The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-29) in Baku, where he explored the pavilion’s design and its role in promoting the country’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
The pavilion showcases Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage while highlighting the nation’s sustainable approaches to environmental and climate issues. The concept of the pavilion, titled "Internal Stability," draws inspiration from the traditional Uzbek courtyard, symbolizing the harmonious relationship between man, nature, and family values.
The structure’s architectural design incorporates ecological materials such as straw plaster and wood, reflecting Uzbekistan’s long-standing tradition of using natural resources in construction. The design, which evokes the timeless porch and veranda of Uzbek homes, creates a comfortable environment while promoting sustainability and ecological responsibility.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev was briefed on the pavilion's goals, which include raising awareness about Uzbekistan's efforts to tackle climate change and improve ecological practices.
The pavilion will host over 20 events throughout the summit, addressing critical issues such as the social and environmental challenges of the Aral Sea region, the development of a green economy, renewable energy solutions, water-saving technologies, food security, and biodiversity preservation.
Through its design and activities, Uzbekistan’s National Pavilion at COP-29 serves as a platform to demonstrate the country’s dedication to a sustainable future and its ongoing efforts to combat climate change.
