Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Kungirotboy Sharipov, held a meeting on September 19, with the Austrian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Matthias Radosztiks. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Higher Education, focused on strengthening cooperation between the two nations in the education sector.
Key discussions revolved around expanding opportunities for Uzbek students to pursue studies at leading Austrian universities through grant-based programs. Both sides highlighted the importance of improving the quality of German language instruction at universities in Uzbekistan to support this initiative.
The dialogue also emphasized the potential for further collaboration between the engineering and technical universities of both countries. Plans were discussed to introduce joint educational programs in engineering and technical fields at the bachelor's and master's levels. This cooperation aims to enhance the training of specialists and facilitate the exchange of expertise between professional educational institutions.
Additionally, the two parties explored the possibility of sending young Uzbek scientists to Austrian research institutions for internships, short-term training, and advanced courses. Ambassador Radostich expressed Austria’s readiness to support these efforts by helping establish direct connections between the universities of the two countries.
This meeting marks a step in expanding educational opportunities for Uzbek students, contributing to the growth of academic collaboration between Uzbekistan and Austria.
