UZ-SAT, a leading provider of satellite communication services, and Turkmen Hemrasy, the operator of Turkmenistan’s national communications satellite, have announced a new agreement to broadcast a package of Uzbek TV and radio channels via the TurkmenAlem52°E satellite.
The agreement allows UZ-SAT to utilize the capacity of one of the transponders on the eastern beam of the TurkmenAlem52°E satellite. This strategic partnership will enable the broadcasting of over 20 Uzbek TV and radio channels in both HD and SD formats across Europe, Russia, and Central Asia.
This new service aims to enhance the availability of Uzbek media content in the region, providing viewers with a wider range of programming options and reinforcing cultural and informational connections.
In July, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan bolstered their economic relationship with an emphasis on enhancing transportation links. During meetings of the Uzbek-Turkmen Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation, they discussed strategies to boost cross-border trade and optimize logistics.
Bilateral trade between two countries has doubled over the past five years, surpassing $1bn. Both nations are hopeful for further economic growth, especially through the development of cross-border trade zones to streamline commerce.
