The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a new grant opportunity on September 16, under its Business Support Project, aimed at enhancing Uzbekistan’s business environment and promoting growth across critical sectors such as textiles, tourism, the green economy, and information communications technology (ICT).
The grant program is designed to offer financial assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other entities working towards economic development and social inclusion. USAID places a strong emphasis on initiatives that empower women, youth, and vulnerable populations, seeking to support projects that create lasting social and economic benefits.
Grants will range from $25,000 to $100,000, with USAID co-financing 50% of project costs for most applicants. Businesses and organizations focusing on women, youth, and marginalized groups will be eligible for up to 80% funding. Applications for this opportunity are due by October 15, 2024, with all necessary documents and templates available online.
This grant initiative is part of USAID's broader five-year Business Support Project, which aims to foster an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem and contribute to Uzbekistan’s long-term economic growth.
USAID continues to work closely with the Uzbek government to diversify the country’s economy, strengthen regional trade, and address significant health challenges.
