The International Chodiev Foundation (ICF) has finished constructing a new educational wing at Secondary School No. 23 in Khiva, Khorezm. The expansion, which adds 270 new student spaces, was carried out in partnership with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
The newly constructed three-story building features nine classrooms, a science lab, a teachers' lounge, an administration office, a medical center, restrooms, and a library. Spanning 537 square meters, the modern facility is equipped with high-quality equipment and is connected to the existing school through a covered passage.
This expansion addresses the pressing issue of overcrowded schools in the Khiva district, providing a more spacious and comfortable learning environment for local children.
“We are delighted to support the Government’s efforts to develop education and improve the future of children in Uzbekistan. Our foundation believes that quality education can transform lives, and this new school is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the potential of the next generation,” Dr. Patokh Chodiev, Founder of ICF, expressed his enthusiasm about the project.
The project aligns with the State Programme for the Development of School Education 2022-2026. ICF’s broader educational initiatives in Uzbekistan include sponsoring two rural residential care schools, a boarding school, a pre-school facility, and several scholarship programs.
Issued on May 11, 2022, this presidential decree outlines measures for enhancing educational conditions across Uzbekistan. It includes initiatives for the construction, reconstruction, and modernization of secondary education institutions. The ICF’s project supports this national effort through its extensive charitable program.
Established in 1996 by Uzbek businessman and philanthropist Dr. Patokh Chodiev, the ICF operates a broad range of charitable programs across the CIS countries, Asia, and Europe. In Uzbekistan, the foundation's work focuses on social, scientific, and medical assistance, as well as supporting culture, art, sports, and humanitarian aid.
