Kyrgyzstan is advancing in its efforts to boost agricultural exports with a new initiative to export potatoes to Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan is nearing the completion of negotiations with the administrations of several large retail chains in Uzbekistan, including the major retail chain Korzinka.
This initiative is expected to create a new export route for Kyrgyz potatoes, benefiting local farmers and agronomists. The move comes in response to rising demand for high-quality potatoes in Uzbekistan, with Tashkent's 12 major retail and wholesale centers showing increased interest.
The export plan is set to enhance the visibility of Kyrgyz potatoes in Uzbekistan’s market. By partnering with key retailers, Kyrgyzstan aims to strengthen its agricultural export sector and provide opportunities for its potato producers to reach new markets.
The ministry of agriculture has invited various stakeholders, including plant protection experts, fertilizer manufacturers, and food industry specialists, to support this initiative. Their involvement will ensure that Kyrgyz potatoes meet the quality standards required by Uzbek retailers and consumers.
This export venture not only presents a chance to expand Kyrgyzstan’s market reach but also offers potential benefits such as improved agricultural practices and increased investment in farming technology. Collaboration with Uzbek retailers is expected to bring best practices in potato cultivation, storage, and transportation, enhancing overall product quality.
The initiative is poised to stimulate growth and innovation in Kyrgyzstan's agricultural sector, with significant implications for both production and investment in agricultural infrastructure.
