The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of Tajikistan, the Savings Bank of Tajikistan "Amonatbonk," and Freedom Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Dushanbe. The agreement seeks to enhance collaboration between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in IT and innovation development.
The MoU was signed by key figures, including Zhaslan Madiyev, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan; Aidos Zhumagulov, a member of the board of directors of Freedom Bank; Khurshed Mirzo, a representative of the Innovation Agency; and Rizvonzoda Firdavs from the Savings Bank of Tajikistan. This collaboration stresses the pivotal role of information technology and space activities in driving socio-economic progress in both countries.
The agreement focuses on the long-term development and implementation of advanced technologies to boost economic and social progress. Key areas of cooperation include the development of digital infrastructure, the implementation of e-government initiatives, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through knowledge exchange. A key initiative is the creation of a technology park in Tajikistan to support startups and improve the digital ecosystem.
"The opening of a technology park in Tajikistan is an important step in the development of regional cooperation and support for innovation. Thanks to the financing of Freedom Bank, this project opens up new horizons for technological entrepreneurship and the creation of modern IT solutions. This is an example of how international cooperation can contribute to the development of the digital economy and strengthen our ties. It is especially worth noting that more than 100 IT specialists from Tajikistan have already been trained under the Astana Hub program in Kazakhstan, which underlines our common interest in developing the technological potential of the region," Zhaslan Madiyev voiced.
The cooperation also extends to the automation of banking products, drawing on the innovative experiences of digital mortgages and car loans. The MoU includes plans for a subsidiary of Freedom Bank to be established in Tajikistan, allowing the bank to expand its digital financial products and services into the Tajik market.
"Signing the memorandum is an important step in strengthening the partnership and implementing innovative solutions. Along with the launch of the IT hub, we intend to open a subsidiary of Freedom Bank in Tajikistan. We have already done a lot of work in this direction, assembled a team, and determined the location. Opening a subsidiary bank will allow us to scale our experience and implement digital financial products and services in the Tajik market," Aidos Zhumagulov stated.
The agreement also includes plans for participation in international events to promote the innovative ecosystem of Central Asia, explore cross-border partnership opportunities, and develop joint projects in space activities and remote sensing of the Earth.
