On August 5, the Zakovat Asian Cup, a prestigious intellectual competition, took place in Astana, Kazakhstan. The event saw the national teams of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan engage in a spirited contest of knowledge and intellect. Saida Mirziyoyeva, assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, attended the event and delivered a poignant speech celebrating the deepening bonds between the two nations.
In her address, Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized the remarkable progress in Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan relations. Reflecting on the historical context, she recalled the challenges of the past, including strained interactions and long queues at border crossings.
"Today, we feel at home here,” Mirziyoyeva said. “We are like one family. We have so much in common: traditions, customs, culture, food, names, history, religion, and hospitality.”
Mirziyoyeva attributed the significant improvement in relations to the dedicated efforts of the leaders of both countries.
“Thanks to the efforts of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have reached new heights,” she noted.
She praised the political tandem for transforming Central Asia into a region marked by safety, prosperity, and mutual friendship.
