The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has released its updated rankings following the end of July, highlighting notable shifts in the chess world. Uzbek grandmasters continue to make their mark, with five players securing spots in the top 100.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov, who previously held the top position among juniors, has slipped to 2nd place as Indian prodigy Gukesh takes the lead. Abdusattorov, who was ranked 7th overall, fell one place from last month's standings. Despite this, he remains a key figure in the chess community, recently clinching victory in the Rustam Kasimdzhanov Cup in Tashkent with a score of 6.5 points.
Javokhir Sindarov has maintained his 54th position from the previous month, while Rustam Kasimdzhanov has entered the rankings at 42nd. Nodirbek Yakubboev, who had fallen out of the top 100 last month, reemerges at 72nd, up from 84th. Shamsiddin Vokhidov, who performed strongly in the Uzchess Cup, holds steady at 93rd, up from 95th.
The updated rankings also spotlight the upcoming World Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary, where approximately 3,500 chess players will compete. Uzbekistan's national team, including the current Olympic champion, features four grandmasters from the top 100 list:
- GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov (2769)

- GM Shamsiddin Vokhidov (2643)
