In Paris, the boxing competitions at the Summer Olympics are ongoing. Uzbekistan's Sitora Turdibekova, competing in the -57 kg weight category, has progressed to the next round.
In her opening match, Turdibekova faced Marcelat Sakobi Matshu from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The first round saw Matshu leading with a score of 1:4. Turdibekova responded strongly in the second round, winning 5-0. The third round also went in favor of Turdibekova, securing her advancement to the next round.
On August 2, Turdibekova will compete for a spot in the quarterfinals against Yu-Ting Lin from Chinese Taipei, a two-time world champion.
Sitora Turdibekova was born on May 20, 2002, in the Bulungur district of the Samarkand region. She won a gold medal at the 2021 Asian Senior Championship, a bronze medal at the 2022 U-22 continental championship in Tashkent, and a silver medal at the 2023 championship in Bangkok. Turdibekova has been awarded the "Fame" medal for her achievements.
