Uzbekistan has risen six places, moving from 85th in 2023 to 79th this year in the latest Henley Passport Index. The Henley Passport Index is renowned for ranking global passports based on the number of destinations their holders can visit without a prior visa.
Uzbek passport holders now enjoy visa-free access to 64 countries, while visa requirements remain for 162 countries. This marks an enhancement in Uzbekistan's global mobility standing.
Neighboring Kazakhstan also experienced a slight improvement, climbing from 70th place to 67th. Kazakh passports now provide visa-free access to 79 nations, with visa requirements for 147 countries.
Kyrgyzstan saw an advancement from 81st to 78th place. Kyrgyz passports allow visa-free entry to 65 countries, while 161 countries still require visas.
Turkmenistan maintained its 90th position, offering visa-free access to 52 countries while requiring visas for 174 countries. Tajikistan moved from 84th place to 82nd, with Tajik passport holders now having visa-free access to 60 countries, while 166 countries still require visas.
Afghanistan's passport power improved slightly from 109th to 107th place, with visa-free access granted by 28 countries and visa requirements for 198 countries.
At the top of the ranking, Singapore holds the world's most powerful passport, offering visa-free access to 195 countries and visa requirements for only 31 destinations. Last year, Singapore was ranked 2nd, with Japan in the top spot.
With historical data spanning 19 years, the Henley Passport Index is the only one of its kind based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The index covers 199 different passports and 227 travel destinations. Updated monthly, the Henley Passport Index is considered the standard reference tool for global citizens and sovereign states when assessing global mobility.
