Uzbekistan’s passport has shown considerable progress, securing the 128th place among 199 countries in the VisaGuide.World ranking. As of the beginning of this year, Uzbek citizens can enjoy visa-free entry to 31 states, and a visa-on-arrival option is available in 32 countries.
Progress in Central Asia
Among the Central Asian nations, Kazakhstan leads the pack, securing the 110th place. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan follow at the 131st and 139th positions, respectively. Despite being at the 166th place, Turkmenistan is also part of this regional passport power landscape.
Visa-free regimes: boost for Uzbekistan
In a significant development, Iran, Qatar, and Mongolia have announced the introduction of a visa-free regime for Uzbek citizens. In response, Uzbekistan has reciprocated by introducing a “visa-free regime” for Qataris.
Global passport power
The Spanish passport has been ranked as the most powerful passport in the world for 2024, with a score of 90.36. The German, Singaporean, Italian, and French passports follow closely, completing the top-five list of the strongest passports for 2024.
The VisaGuide.World Passport Index evaluates and ranks the passports of 199 countries and territories based on various factors to determine their strength. The Spanish passport, with its high score, allows its holders to travel to a significant number of countries with fewer travel restrictions.
Germany, with a score of 90.26, and Singapore, with a score of 90.21, are the second and third most powerful passports, respectively. Italy and France round out the top five, demonstrating the strength of European Union passports in global travel.
