Highlighting the significant growth in trade among Turkic states, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan proposed the implementation of a "Single Window" system at the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Shusha. This system aims to streamline trade and transport processes, enhancing overall efficiency.
"Last year, our mutual trade turnover grew by 27%. The same high growth rates are observed this year. We are interested in maintaining these rates," Mirziyoyev noted. He emphasized the strategic goal of accessing main world markets and reviving the Great Silk Road under new historical conditions.
Mirziyoyev proposed establishing a "Single Window" system to facilitate smoother trade flows and ensure the continuous operation of customs and border checkpoints. "We are interested in establishing a 'Single Window' system and ensuring the continuous operation of customs and border checkpoints," he stated.
Recent advancements in legal frameworks and digital systems within the Organization have already facilitated increased cooperation in trade and transport. "The volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor is steadily growing," Mirziyoyev highlighted.
To support these initiatives, Mirziyoyev suggested involving the recently established Alliance of Logistics Centers and Freight Carriers of Turkic States, based in Tashkent. He also proposed forming a Council of Railway Administrations within the Organization, with its directorate located in Tashkent.
"To shape the agenda and implement the priority tasks of our Organization in the field of transport, it would be expedient to widely involve the Alliance of Logistics Centers and Freight Carriers of Turkic States," he said. "I am confident that you will approve our proposal to establish a Council of Railway Administrations within the Organization and to locate its directorate in Tashkent."
Mirziyoyev also suggested that ministers of trade and transport jointly develop comprehensive measures by the next summit to maximize the effectiveness of international corridors. These measures would focus on the full digitalization of road transportation and the creation of "green" corridors to enhance sustainability and efficiency.
