The Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan has formalized an agreement with Ernst & Young for the collaborative development of the International Digital Technology Center, Enterprise Uzbekistan. The agreement was signed in the presence of Minister Sherzod Shermatov and IT Park representatives led by CEO Farkhod Ibragimov.
The International Digital Technology Center, known as Enterprise Uzbekistan, is designed to be a cornerstone in Uzbekistan's digital transformation. Situated within the IT Park complex, this center will function under a special legal regime that includes a regulatory sandbox tailored for the IT sector. This setup will enable the development and testing of innovative technologies, services, and corporate digital products in a controlled environment.
Enterprise Uzbekistan aims to attract global technology giants by offering unique conditions related to tax and customs regulations, labor relations, banking and financial activities, and the protection of intellectual property and personal data. These conditions are expected to create a highly conducive environment for business operations and technological advancements.
The parties discussed the future development plans for Enterprise Uzbekistan, with Ernst & Young set to play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and support of the center’s special legal regime. Minister Sherzod Shermatov highlighted the importance of Ernst & Young's extensive and multidisciplinary expertise, which is expected to lay a robust foundation for the launch and growth of Enterprise Uzbekistan.
Minister Shermatov emphasized that the successful initiation of Enterprise Uzbekistan would position the country among the world’s leading nations in terms of IT development. This initiative is anticipated to enhance the country's investment appeal, foster business growth, and significantly boost the IT sector.
