Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov held a meeting on July 3, with a delegation from Afghanistan led by Minister of Industry and Trade Nuriddin Azizi. The delegation, comprising around 300 Afghan entrepreneurs and businessmen, arrived in Uzbekistan with the aim of bolstering bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation.
Prime Minister Aripov emphasized the enduring principles of friendship, cooperation, and good neighborliness that underpin the evolving relationship between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening these ties for mutual benefit and regional stability.
Discussions centered on identifying promising areas of collaboration across various sectors. Economic cooperation took center stage, with a focus on increasing trade and investment between the two countries. Energy, transport logistics, mining, and agriculture were highlighted as key sectors ripe for joint ventures and partnership.
Specific measures were discussed to enhance bilateral trade volumes, reflecting the shared goal of expanding economic cooperation. The importance of fostering closer relations between the business communities of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan was also discussed, recognizing the pivotal role of private sector engagement in driving sustainable economic growth.
As part of their itinerary, the delegation will visit industrial facilities in Tashkent and Samarkand, providing them with firsthand insights into Uzbekistan's industrial capabilities. They will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage.
