Kyrgyzstan imported over 34,000 passenger cars from China in 4M24, notably higher than the 3,435 cars imported during the same period in 2023, the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reports. The value of these imports rose to nearly $577mn, marking almost a seven-fold increase from $83mn in 4M23.
South Korea was the second-largest car exporter to Kyrgyzstan during this period, with 10,954 cars valued at $85mn. The United States followed, exporting 2,906 cars worth more than $59mn to Kyrgyzstan.
In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 57,301 passenger cars from January through April 2024, representing a 92.2% increase from the 29,815 cars imported during the same period in 2023. The total value of these imports reached over $980mn, doubling from $486.2mn in January-April 2023.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover grew by 27.7%, reaching $5bn from January through April 2024, compared to $4bn during the same period in 2023.
Kyrgyzstan's exports totalled $760.6mn, a 19.7% increase from $635.8mn in 4M23. Imports rose by 29.2%, reaching $4.4bn from 4M24, up from $3.4bn during the same period in 2023.
