Cargolux, the Luxembourg-based cargo airline, intends to increase the frequency of its flights to Turkmenistan. This decision was disclosed during a meeting between Cargolux Vice President Maxim Straus and officials from Turkmenistan Airlines.

The meeting also covered potential collaboration in training personnel. The parties discussed leveraging Cargolux’s specialized training centres in Luxembourg to improve the skills of Turkmenistan Airlines’ staff.
Cargolux Airlines International S.A. is among the largest European cargo airlines, offering scheduled and charter flight services globally. The airline is a member of the Association of European Airlines (AEA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Earlier this year, Turkmenistan Airlines announced plans to expand its route network from Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, to several new international destinations, including Milan (Italy), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
For 2024, Turkmenistan Airlines aims to operate flights to 14 international destinations across 12 countries.
Before this, Daryo reported that Representatives of Turkmenistan Airlines met with Ghanem bin Abdullah Al-Remaihi, Acting Chargé d'Affaires at the Qatari Embassy in Turkmenistan, to discuss establishing direct flights between the two countries. The discussions focused on both direct and transit flight possibilities.
