A delegation of scientists from Uzbekistan's research institutes is currently in Italy to study best practices in agricultural management and innovations. This visit, reported by Dunyo news agency on June 2, aims to enhance Uzbekistan's agricultural sector by adopting Italy's advanced techniques.
During their stay, the Uzbek scientists are meeting with their Italian counterparts at various scientific centers of the Council for Agricultural Research and Economic Analysis (CREA) under the Italian Ministry of Agriculture. These interactions facilitate the exchange of knowledge and insights while allowing the Uzbek researchers to oversee experimental field research.
The Uzbek delegation is focusing on several key areas where Italy excels, including organic farming, viticulture, plant protection, livestock and aquaculture, milk and dairy products production, microbiology, and mechanization. They aim to learn sustainable farming practices, advanced grape cultivation, environmentally friendly pest control methods, efficient animal husbandry and fish farming techniques, high-quality dairy production processes, the role of microorganisms in agriculture, and the use of machinery to enhance productivity.
Throughout the week, researchers from both countries will discuss critical agricultural issues such as preventing soil erosion, managing water scarcity, innovative insect control, improving biodiversity, value chain development, waste reduction, and food security.
The Italian Council for Agricultural Research and Economic Analysis, established in 1928, plays a crucial role in Italy's agricultural research. With 12 research centers and 66 experimental farms across the country, CREA employs over 600 scientists who conduct pioneering studies in various agricultural sectors.
