Murat Nurtleu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, conducted a series of high-profile meetings with leaders of major Italian companies during his working visit to Rome. These discussions stressed Italy's robust interest in implementing various projects in Kazakhstan, spanning several key industries.
At a meeting with Stefano Pontecorvo, President of the transnational corporation Leonardo, both parties explored potential projects in the aviation industry and agro-industrial complex. Leonardo proposed an advanced agricultural management system aimed at optimizing water usage and soil fertility, leveraging aerospace technologies for mining. Pontecorvo emphasized Kazakhstan’s strategic importance and prioritized it for these innovative projects.
Furthering the theme of safety and production, Nurtleu engaged with Vittorio De Blaziis, President of DPI Sekur. They deliberated on enhancing the production of personal protective equipment (PPE) in Kazakhstan, including respiratory protection and other safety gear. De Blaziis highlighted the potential for localizing the production of critical safety equipment components within Kazakhstan.
Discussions with Sandro Malquori, General Director of PetrolValves S.p.A., centered on expanding the company's investment footprint in Kazakhstan. PetrolValves, known for its high-tech fittings, aims to increase production volumes and incorporate more Kazakhstani materials into its products, signaling a deeper integration into the local economy.
In a meeting with Carla Sora, General Director of Agroittica, the focus shifted to aquaculture. Agroittica, a major producer of sturgeon and black caviar, is set to implement an investment project for cultivating sturgeon species in Kazakhstan, promising to bring their expertise in sustainable aquaculture to the region.
Water resource management was a key topic in discussions with Fabio Pompei, President of Curator. The company is keen on projects that digitalize water supply systems, minimize energy consumption in water distribution, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, reflecting a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Additionally, Nurtleu met with Marco Beretta, General Director of NEOS Airlines in Kazakhstan and President of the Italian-Kazakh trade association. Beretta presented the “Road to Kazakhstan” project, an initiative designed to enhance Italy's awareness of Kazakhstan and promote it as a major tourist and cultural destination in the region.
