Uzbekistan and Vietnam inked a memorandum of understanding on sericulture during a meeting between Iqboljon Ergashev, Chairman of the Uzbek Committee for the Development of Sericulture and the Wool Industry, and a Vietnamese delegation including representatives from HA BAO SILK, MINH SANG, and TRUONG ON TEA.
The memorandum outlines various areas of collaboration aimed at bolstering the sericulture sector in Uzbekistan. One of the key provisions entails the recruitment of specialized personnel to elevate the quality standards of raw silk produced in Uzbekistan's factories.
Additionally, the document paves the way for the establishment of joint ventures focusing on silk spinning and fabric production, in tandem with sericulture clusters. These joint ventures will benefit from the expertise of both Uzbek and Vietnamese specialists, aiming to capitalize on synergies for mutual growth.
An integral component of this partnership is the exchange of knowledge and experience. Uzbekistan stands to benefit from Vietnam's expertise in cocoon cultivation, mulberry plantation management, and the production of high-quality silk. By leveraging Vietnamese know-how and engaging qualified specialists, Uzbekistan aims to optimize its silk production processes and enhance the quality of its silk products.
The signing ceremony was followed by discussions centered on various aspects of sericulture and silk production, with a particular focus on integrating Vietnamese best practices into Uzbekistan's sericulture landscape. The Vietnamese delegation also had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the showroom of silk products hosted by the Uzbekipaksanoat Association, gaining insights into Uzbekistan's rich heritage of silk craftsmanship.
The memorandum signifies a stride towards fostering stronger ties between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, particularly in the field of sericulture. By joining forces and leveraging each other's strengths, both nations aim to capitalize on the immense potential of the silk industry, ultimately contributing to economic growth and prosperity.
