OSON, a prominent payment organization based in Uzbekistan, is gearing up to expand its operations into the Kazakh market. Following nearly two years of successful presence with its OSON KZ Wallet in Kazakhstan, the company is preparing to launch a full-fledged application in August of this year, preceded by a test run scheduled for June, FinTech&Retail reported on May 2.
In an interview with profit.kz, CEO Farkhod Makhmudov shed light on the company's plans. He highlighted that the initial launch was slated for an earlier date but was delayed to refine offerings for customers. This includes enhancing features such as the issuance of international cards, enabling OSON to function as an independent issuer in Kazakhstan. Makhmudov emphasized that this development "allows us to provide services on even more favorable terms."
OSON aims to replicate its successful approach in Uzbekistan within the Kazakh market, with a focus on international transfers, payments, and transactions related to services within video games. Notably, the company's focus lies on entertainment games rather than gambling.
Having already made significant strides in the Kazakh market, including obtaining a license from the Central Bank of Kazakhstan and becoming a resident of Astana Hub, OSON demonstrates its commitment to consolidating its foothold in the region.
Makhmudov expressed confidence in a successful launch, citing preparations and agreements already inked with local fintech organizations and banks. He remarked,
"Today we are only waiting for the completion of formal processes, such as the signing of contracts and agreements with data centers and acquiring companies."
