The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, hosted a delegation led by the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdulla bin Al Marri. The delegation's visit was in conjunction with the third Tashkent International Investment Forum on May 2, presidential press service informed.
Minister Al Marri conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the UAE's top leadership, including President Sheikh Mohammed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, Vice President Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalid Al Nahyan.
The discussions primarily centered around key issues pertaining to the support and advancement of joint trade, economic, and investment projects. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the rapidly evolving partnership, particularly in vital sectors of the economy. Notably, they highlighted the increasing volume of trade, collaborative ventures, and the establishment of direct flights between the two countries.
An impressive portfolio of projects, totaling $4 bn and involving leading companies from Uzbekistan and the UAE, was noted as a testament to the robust economic ties between the nations. Special emphasis was placed on accelerating major projects in critical sectors such as energy, transportation, logistics, agriculture, and water supply.
