The Taliban in Afghanistan organized an iftar gathering for foreign diplomats, during which various topics including the situation in Gaza and investment in economic projects in Afghanistan were discussed. The event, reported by Sputnik Afghanistan, was presided over by Abdul Salam Hanafi, the deputy prime minister for administrative affairs of the Taliban.
Among the attendees was Ambassador Yodgorkhoja Shodmonov of Uzbekistan in Kabul. In his address, Hanafi condemned what he described as Israel's genocide against the Palestinians and highlighted the Taliban's achievements across different sectors. He also expressed Kabul's eagerness to cultivate relations with all nations, emphasizing an economically oriented foreign policy devoid of interference in internal affairs.
Hanafi urged foreign diplomats to consider investing in various economic projects in Afghanistan, listing several initiatives including the "Khayraton-Kharlachi" railway, "Spin-Buldak - Herat" railway, "Chabahor - Milyak" railway, Lapis lazuli corridor, Vahan Corridor, and the TAPI gas pipeline.
A delegation from the Railways Department of Uzbekistan visited Kabul on April 2 to engage with the leadership of the Afghan Railways Department. Discussions revealed Uzbekistan's intention to halve the railway tariff for Afghanistan.
Additionally, plans were unveiled to construct a warehouse at the Naibabad station along the Hayraton-Mazari Sharif route, aimed at facilitating the efficient loading and unloading of fruits and vegetables. This infrastructure initiative seeks to ensure seamless transportation of agricultural produce from Afghanistan to Central Asia, Europe, and other international markets, minimizing delays and damage.
