Addressing Urgent Needs
The contribution from Spain comes at a critical time when humanitarian needs in Afghanistan remain pressing. As per OCHA, more than 23mn people in Afghanistan require urgent humanitarian assistance this year alone. In light of these staggering figures, the institution has underlined the importance of robust financial support to address the multifaceted challenges facing vulnerable populations in the country.
Call for Support
OCHA has called for international solidarity and support to meet the humanitarian needs of Afghan citizens. With the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan continuing to deteriorate, the organization has requested a budget of three billion dollars to adequately address the needs of affected individuals and communities. The generous contribution from Spain represents a step towards fulfilling this funding gap and providing essential aid to those most in need.
