Alexander Bortnikov, the head of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), has implicated the authorities of the USA, Great Britain, and Ukraine in the recent terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall. Speaking to "TASS" on March 26, Bortnikov shed light on what he claims to be a coordinated effort to destabilize Russia.
Allegations Against Ukraine
Bortnikov asserted that Ukraine, facing setbacks on the battlefield, resorted to orchestrating indirect attacks to portray resilience. He suggested that the Ukrainian authorities may have direct involvement in planning and executing the terrorist attack as a means to assert their capabilities amidst military challenges.
"We believe it to be true. In any case, we are talking based on the available facts. True, this is general information, but we have reliable sources that they planned this for a long time," stated Bortnikov, underscoring the seriousness of the accusations leveled against Ukraine.
Foreign Intelligence Involvement
In addition to implicating Ukraine, Bortnikov pointed fingers at British and U.S. intelligence agencies, alleging their active participation in orchestrating the attack. According to Bortnikov, these foreign entities played a crucial role in scripting and facilitating the assault on Crocus City Hall.
"What did Ukraine need to demonstrate its capabilities? Of course, committing sabotage and sabotage behind the opponent's back. This is exactly what the leadership of the Ukrainian special services and the British special services are aiming for. U.S. special services paved the way for this," he elaborated, suggesting a collaborative effort aimed at undermining Russian security and stability.
Destabilization Tactics Unveiled
Characterizing the attack as a deliberate attempt to "rock the boat" and sow panic within Russian society, Bortnikov pointed to the unfolding events along the Ukrainian frontlines as a contributing factor. He insinuated that the failed Ukrainian counterattack had spurred desperate measures aimed at projecting strength and relevance.
Highlighting specific regions as focal points of Ukrainian aggression, Bortnikov singled out Donbass and the Belgorod region. He underscored the strategic significance of these areas in the ongoing conflict, indicating heightened tensions and military maneuvers.
