Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Turkmen Ambassador Shadurdy Meredov in Tashkent.
The parties exchanged views on current international and regional issues, of mutual interest, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The diplomats held "negotiations on the entire range of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, transport-communications, cultural-humanitarian fields".
The Uzbek Foreign Ministry said the two sides discussed upcoming joint events.
Saidov also held a telephone conversation with Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
"The parties focused on further expanding deep strategic partnership between two nations, the rich agenda for 2024, as well as collaboration within international institutions."
Experts told Daryo that the Declaration on deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was signed in October 2022.
Between 2017 and 2023, mutual trade has increased more than fivefold, reaching $1.094bn by the end of last year.
This year will see the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Economic Council and the Forum of Regions of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The exhibitions "Made in Uzbekistan" and "Made in Turkmenistan" will be held in Ashgabat and Tashkent.
