The city of Osh has received the initial shipment of buses purchased from Uzbekistan, with subsequent deliveries expected by March 21, as confirmed by the city administration.
The agreement for the procurement of these municipal passenger buses was previously reached at the representative office of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund. Under this agreement, hundreds of buses were leased to the city authorities of Osh. These buses were manufactured at the Samarkand Automotive Plant.
The acquisition of these modern low-floor buses aims to bolster and modernize the city's transportation fleet. It is anticipated that this initiative will not only enhance transportation efficiency but also elevate the comfort of public transportation services for both residents and visitors of Osh.
This recent delivery follows the purchase of 50 buses from Uzbekistan by the Osh administration in the previous year, reflecting an ongoing collaboration between the two nations in the transportation sector.
Last year, it was reported that in a move aimed at advancing its commitment to sustainable transportation and reducing carbon emissions, Kyrgyzstan is set to collaborate with prominent Chinese companies to acquire electric buses and establish charging infrastructure across the country.
