Ambassador of Uzbekistan Rahmatulla Nazarov recently held a meeting with Andrey Ivanes, the Minister of Education of Belarus to discuss advancement in the field of higher education, Dunyo reports.
During the discussion, the Belarusian side commended the outcomes of President Alexander Lukashenko's official visit to Uzbekistan from February 7-9, 2024. Both parties highlighted the agreements achieved in the realm of pre-school and school education as a result of the visit.
The necessity to intensify efforts in fulfilling the outlined objectives was emphasized, with a readiness to deliberate on the progress of the "Road Map" and the execution of the cooperation program in the education sector.
The dialogue underscored the significance of establishing branches of Belarusian higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan, initiating "pilot projects" in vocational education across various regions of Uzbekistan, and facilitating the exchange of professionals and managers as pivotal areas of cooperation.
Concluding the meeting, an agreement was reached between the competent authorities of Uzbekistan and Belarus to conduct detailed assessments of the discussed topics, indicating a commitment to advancing educational cooperation between the two nations.
Earlier, it was reported that the conclusion of high-level negotiations on February 8, between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, marked a significant milestone in bilateral relations between the two nations. At the culmination of the talks, the esteemed leaders adopted a joint statement. The joint statement was accompanied by the signing of numerous crucial bilateral documents and agreements.
