PizzaPitch Women, an event showcasing the ingenuity of women entrepreneurs, witnessed a flurry of inventive projects, inspiring success stories, and entrepreneurial zeal. Over 160 projects vied for attention at the event, held on March 9, reflecting the burgeoning spirit of female entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.
The event, buoyed by support from esteemed organizations such as USAID, the UNTER Innovation Center, and the UN Development Program, among others, provided a platform for 45 startup founders to pitch their ventures before a discerning audience of seasoned entrepreneurs and business angels.
Following a rigorous qualification process, 15 teams advanced to the final stage, where they presented their projects with passion and precision. At the culmination of the event, five standout projects were honored with prizes totaling UZS 10,000,000 ($798).
The winning projects of PizzaPitch Women are as follows:
- Choose and Cook: This innovative mobile application generates recipes based on user-input ingredients, simplifying meal planning and cooking for busy individuals.
- Qarzsiz: An application designed to streamline debt management in various retail settings, offering an efficient solution for both consumers and businesses.
- Mendeleev Kids & Juniors: Providing open chemistry lessons with specialized equipment and safety measures tailored for children, fostering a love for science from a young age.
- Vision: A groundbreaking device designed to assist the visually impaired, utilizing voice prompts and vibrations to identify objects in the surrounding environment.
- Cook to Book: This service enables users to create personalized cookie recipes and conveniently order ingredients, catering to culinary enthusiasts and home bakers.
The winners were selected by an expert jury comprising accomplished entrepreneurs and investors, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation process. All participants had the opportunity to engage with female experts and entrepreneurs, receiving invaluable feedback to refine and enhance their projects.
To further support the burgeoning talent showcased at PizzaPitch Women, a series of media initiatives, including podcasts and educational videos, will be launched for participants. This endeavor aligns with the #the warning business initiative by Payme, underscoring a commitment to nurturing and empowering women in entrepreneurship.
The allocated funds, exclusively earmarked for marketing and sales enhancement, will catalyze the growth and visibility of the winning projects, fostering a conducive environment for female-led innovation in Uzbekistan.
