Bilal Karimi, the ambassador of the Taliban embassy in Beijing, convened with Yu Xiaoyong, China's special representative for Afghanistan. The discussions centered on a range of topics aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
Central to the dialogue was China's firm stance on non-interference in Afghanistan's internal matters. Emphasizing respect for Afghanistan's sovereignty, the Chinese official assured the Taliban ambassador of China's commitment to refraining from meddling in the country's internal affairs.
The meeting, as reported in the newsletter of the Taliban embassy in Beijing, addressed various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including political relations, economic ties with neighboring countries and the wider region, trade, healthcare, transit, and consular issues.
Earlier Daryo reported that China has made history by becoming the inaugural nation to officially establish diplomatic ties with the Taliban at the highest echelon. Bilal Karimi, previously serving as the deputy press secretary for the Taliban, has been designated as Afghanistan's ambassador to China, marking a notable diplomatic achievement.
