Plans were revealed for the creation of a 420-hectare "Central Park" in the heart of the New Toshkent project complemented by the planting of 200,000 trees, during the "Creativity in Uzbekistan" conference at the international exhibition "Construction - Uzbuild-2024" on February 27.
Sustainable Development and Future-Forward Infrastructure
Highlighting the conference's theme of "New Toshkent - the city of nature and the future," the press service of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy underscored the focus on innovative solutions and comfortable living conditions for the populace. Central to this vision is the establishment of the expansive "Central Park," which symbolizes a commitment to blending nature with urban development.
Integration of Modern Ecological Transport System and Infrastructure
Integral to the realization of the New Toshkent megaproject is the integration of a modern ecological transport system. Embracing principles of sustainability and safety, the city will see the seamless operation of metro and electric buses alongside pedestrian and bicycle-friendly infrastructure. Furthermore, the construction of underground parking lots for 100,000 cars aims to alleviate traffic congestion while promoting a greener, more accessible urban environment.
Pioneering Sustainable Energy and Infrastructure Solutions
Setting a precedent for sustainable urban development in Central Asia, New Toshkent will pioneer innovative energy solutions, including the construction of a "three-generation" station for electricity production. Additionally, the utilization of water-saving technologies and the implementation of advanced wastewater treatment processes reflect a concerted effort to minimize environmental impact and optimize resource utilization.
Collaborative Efforts and Long-Term Vision
Underlining the collaborative nature of the project, Hakan Agka, Executive Director of Cross Works, expressed enthusiasm for spearheading the master plan's development. With a comprehensive strategy encompassing seven districts to be built over the next century, the project aims to accommodate over 2.5mn people while prioritizing safety and comfort for future generations.
Infrastructure Development to Cater to Growing Population
Addressing the burgeoning needs of the populace, the New Toshkent megaproject will include the construction of apartment buildings, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. With plans for apartment blocks for 100,000 people, 30 schools, 20 kindergartens, and state-of-the-art medical facilities, the project underscores a commitment to fostering vibrant, inclusive communities with optimal infrastructure.
