A delegation from Turkmenistan has held talks at the US State Department with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central Asia, Ambassador John Mark Pommersheim. The meeting focused on organisational issues of the upcoming political consultations, which are scheduled to take place in 2024.
"The sides positively assessed the format of the Turkmen-American political consultations to discuss issues of mutual interest and coordinate joint actions to develop bilateral relations."
The US Congress last year stressed the importance of Turkmenistan's neutrality.
Experts told Daryo that Turkmenistan has not received significant foreign direct investment from the US, and most commercial activity has been export-oriented. General Electric, Boeing and John Deere have established themselves as major suppliers of industrial equipment.
