Samarkand Tourism Forum 2024 to take place in Uzbekistan on February 9-10

Samarkand Tourism Forum 2024 to take place in Uzbekistan on February 9-10

The Samarkand Tourism Forum 2024 (STF’24), a major event aimed at developing tourism services and finding new solutions, is set to take place on February 9-10 in the historic city of Samarkand. Organized with the support of the Tourism Revitalization Agency, the forum is expected to be the event of the year for tourism service providers and creators of travel impressions of the Central Asian countries.

    A Platform for Collaboration

The STF’24, now in its fourth iteration, is an independent business event for tourism sector participants in the Central Asian region. The forum is focused on development, cooperation, and the search for new solutions. The main objective of the forum is to provide a high-quality platform for sharing experiences and cooperation, and to help industry participants meet on common platforms.

    Building a Community

A community has formed around STF, with members adopting a “horizontal” approach. Many speakers come to STF at their own expense to share their knowledge and skills, realizing that they are contributing to the development of their community and the industry as a whole. This commitment is appreciated by listeners who purchase tickets, enabling organizers to provide everyone with a network-friendly infrastructure.

A Look Back at Previous Forums

The inaugural STF was held in January 2020 and was dedicated to the guides who are the “cultural ambassadors” of the country. The goal of the first forum was to show participants the entry points to one of the most demanding professions in the region and to prove that it can be done at almost any age.

In 2023, the second STF Travel Bazaar took place on the territory of the Samarkand Institute of Foreign Languages. The program covered all market participants, from guides, tour operators, restaurateurs, and hoteliers to tourism. STF-2023 brought together 183 participants and 40 speakers from 13 countries.

    Looking Forward to STF’24

The number of countries and organizations participating in this year’s event is expected to increase even more. As Central Asia’s tourism sector continues to grow, events like STF’24 play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and innovation. The forum will continue to serve as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices, promoting sustainable tourism development in the region.
