Uzbekistan-Belarus roundtable explores prospects for cooperation
Tashkent played host to a roundtable discussion on "Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus – New Horizons and Prospects." Organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISRS) in collaboration with the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research (BISR), the event convened heads of diplomatic missions, as well as leaders and representatives from expert-analytical, scientific, and academic circles of both countries, UzA reported on January 30.
Representatives from Belarus included leaders and experts from prestigious research institutes such as BISR, the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study, the State University of Transport, Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, and other institutions. On the Uzbek side, key figures from ISRS, the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the Center for the Study of Problems of Transport and Logistics Development, Uzbekistan Railways, and the Agency of Information and Mass Communications were present.
The roundtable provided a platform for exchanging views, fostering a deeper understanding of the existing collaboration, and exploring avenues for further development. With the participation of diplomatic leaders and experts from various sectors, the discussions aimed to strengthen ties between Uzbekistan and Belarus in multifaceted dimensions.
Transport and logistics connectivity emerged as a crucial theme, recognizing the importance of seamless connectivity in fostering efficient trade and economic relations between the two nations. The discussion also emphasized the need for cultural and humanitarian dialogue, recognizing the role of people-to-people connections in building lasting partnerships.
Earlier Daryo reported that the Uzbekistan-Belarus Business Forum, held on December 5, marked a substantial advancement in bolstering economic collaboration between the two nations. Attended by more than two hundred representatives from the business communities of Uzbekistan and Belarus, the forum served as a vibrant platform for building strategic partnerships and investigating opportunities for shared development.
