To enhance Uzbekistan's hydroelectric power infrastructure, the Tae-Chang NET company from the Republic of Korea has unveiled plans to upgrade five hydroelectric power stations in the country.
The announcement came during a meeting at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul, where representatives from Tae-Chang NET disclosed their intentions to completely replace the power units at five hydroelectric power plants, collectively generating 30 MW, situated in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions.
The company has already initiated the development of a feasibility study for the comprehensive modernization of these hydroelectric power plants. As part of the initiative, the pilot project, focusing on the conversion of one hydroelectric power station, is set to be funded through grant assistance from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Uzbekhydroenergo and Tae-Chang NET are actively collaborating to prepare a project concept for the official application process.
Tae-Chang NET Co., Ltd., renowned for its expertise in manufacturing generators, units for wind and hydroelectric power plants, various engines, hydraulic systems, and cutting-edge technologies, is poised to play a crucial role in bolstering Uzbekistan's renewable energy infrastructure. The proposed modernization is expected to contribute significantly to the country's renewable energy goals and promote sustainable development.
